The new Jeep Gladiator offers the same standard engine design across all trims, a powerful Pentastar V6 capable of 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. It's paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, but drivers wanting more control can opt to pair it with a six-speed manual transmission instead.
Some trims come with a rugged 4x4 system, either the off-road-loving Command-Trac design or the Rock-Trac system with locking differential that specializes in crawling over boulder-strewn terrain. Other off-road performance features of the Gladiator include a high ground clearance for bypassing obstacles like tree branches or rocks lying directly in its path, superior water fording capabilities and advanced wheel articulation that excels in covering uneven terrain.
Available driving modes allow for honing vehicle response to varied terrain. Drivers can manually adjust throttle, traction control and transmission shift points with the Sand and Rock modes.
